i didn't think it was. i read about it on crackberry yesterday, and it sounded like it made sense. who knows.

fido has it for $350, which is freaking expensive (however you'd save on monthly plan and contract length).

If everyone's looking for a cross platform messaging app though, why aren't we all using Whatsapp? It's been out forever and it's been cross-platform for ages.

Even if I get bbm, I might not use it that much. Not that I don't like it or whatever, but I just don't like switching between apps to chat.

I was always under the impression that whatsapp's servers were pretty far from being as secure as the BB or apple ones.

Whatsapp is for casual and entertainment use.. I'm sure their target market doesn't really care about it being secure or not.

i found what's app to be slow and buggy.

i don't know how it'd work on other phones, but on my phone bbm works seamlessly within the messages app, where i get all my texts, emails, facebook, twitter, what's app, msn and whatever other messaging in one place. but bbm allows for more characters than text, is faster and allows for group picture/calendar/voice sharing.
