looking for some feedback from ppl with data: what's your thoughts on this $39 plan in terms of cost/value?

my contract expired some time ago, so my current cost is $30 bucks for my voice only plan anyways. it says the 10% discount for no phone applies to new activations, but I am wondering if the can do it for existing customers too, bring down the cost to around 35$, so $5 dollars more for 400Mb a month and an extra 200 minutes (not that I exceed my current voice time ever)

the other alternative is to wait until the lowest voice plan drops down to $25 so I can renew with that... (which i am hoping that they do sometime leading up christmas or on boxing week or something)

i'm going to change my plan now. i JUST changed it to the previous (as of yesterday's) plan of $40 for 200 mins and 200mb. this is a dollar less for twice the minutes and data.

i should say that if you're going on contract, you might as well just get the $45 plan and get a new phone too. if you think about it, the extra 6 bucks a month for the next two years will translate to just $144 plus tax. the savings you get over a new phone is like upwards to $300. it's pretty worth it.

well, it's pretty worth it if there's a phone there that you'd want to have. like i said in another thread i was thinking about the moto x. i'd consider the nexus 5 too, but i'm not a huge fan of lg phones. the htc desire looks nice, but really paired down to match the samsung "mini" phones.

ALSO, if you're going on contract, even if you don't want the new phone you could sell it for a profit.
well, a profit on the moto x maybe (it'll cost you $144 over 2 years + $100 for the phone + $25 fido upgrade fee + tax - whatever fido dollars you have - $25 credit if you played that fido game last week), if you sell it for $300... actually maybe it's not that worth it haha (mostly dependant on your fido dollars).

i know the nexus 5 is like $300 off contract from google directly, so don't bother there. the best would have been the samsung galaxy s3, but they've discontinued it.

so i called them. the girl on the phone didn't sound super pleased that i was changing my plan again haha. but the last time i changed my plan the lady said that i really could change as often as i wanted to, they just don't advertise that.

nope, i didn't ask. also because i wasn't going on contract. i thought that only applied if you start a new contract.

i think it applies for month to month, according to ppl on redflagdeals, just not sure if you need to be new customer or not.

indicates that you can have them give both a 10% off discount for adding an additional line and 10% off with the BYOD for existing customers. You just need to get to retentions seems like.

this makes sense to me since it seems stupid that I have to leave fido and then come back to get this deal...

so with 20% off, that would bring down the 39$ month plan down to $31.20. which means i pay an extra $1.20 to get the 400MB and an extra 200 minutes (not that I would use anyways), but paying an extra buck to get a data plan seems like pretty good value, also I wouldn't have to sign up for contract so, i can always downgrade if a $25 dollar plan becomes available.

apparently i was wrong, my current plan is $32... so i'm going to sign up for this so i can get 80 cents off and plus a data plan... lol.
