I'm surprised that she's keeping the door open. It's not like she's saying that she's gay, she's married, she's happy, and that's the end of it. (Maybe it's a Chinese thing?)

Kinda makes me wonder if she's gay because she 'was born that way', or if it was because she was so put off by her father's lifestyle that she did a complete 180... whether consciously or subconsiously.

One other thing. Wouldn't it make more sense to offer the daughter $65M to marry a man instead of offering $65M to any man who can successfully woo her? I mean, either way it'll come down to her decision... wouldn't it? ... unless the father's planning on arranging her 2nd marriage or something. (Do they do that in HK/China?)

i don't think she chose to be a lesbian to spite her father if they're on good speaking terms. if she hated his guts then maybe, but not if their relationship is as she describes.

Ok, I think I understand where we differ.
When I said that I don't think he cares who she marries as long as he's a man, I meant he doesn't care who she marries as long as she's happy being married to that man. Other than that, he doesn't care who he is.

Unfortunately, going about it the way he has, I don't think anybody's going to catch her eye and if anything, it'll only push her further away. What this will show her is that all guys are pigs... I mean seriously... marriage proposals from complete strangers only doing it for the money?

I could just see the whole thing overwhelming her, and completely jading her from men entirely (if she wasn't already).
