Last year, someone at church used an iPad to hook up to the projector and did a powerpoint style slideshow. It looked awesome.. There were animated slide transitions and graphics, and on the ipad side, you can see presenter notes and details like the amount of time on current slide. You could even use an iPhone as a presentation remote.

I got the cable so I could use my iPhone to hook up to the projector. Then I realized a couple of things.. I'd need someone with another iPhone to use as a remote, or have someone sit with my phone and swipe the next slide. Also, if I used my phone, an incoming call or text would disrupt the slideshow. So, I gave up the idea.

It should work a lot better with an iPad though.

We should probably get an Apple TV module for the Church. So many of us have iPhone's and iPad's now, Wireless presentations with full motion videos and animations is super easy and accessible now.

we were actually throwing around the idea of rewiring the church if we had the time/budget... so many things have been done so poorly in the past. everything seems so amateur hour, especially our sound system.

It would take me about 6 hours to do it properly. We should probably put a half height rack right behind the drums and do it properly. Putting a mixing board in the back is all fine and dandy if someone there is managing it, but if not, then that's just a whole lot of wasted wiring.

What if we put a board somewhere to the left of the piano so it'd be more accessible. that way if something needs to be adjusted mid service, we wouldn't have to go all the way back there to get to the board. plus, that back area is packed with other crap as it is

I'll bring it up with the worship ministry and see if we can start a movement to redo the sound system.

we all even said we'd pitch in money ourselves to buy a new wireless monitor system.
