Maybe for you.
For me: Cable is about $75 / month. 5% of that is $3.75. Over the course of a year that's $45. And I don't even have HD. And that's one thing ONLY. Nevermind cell, internet, and home phone. And these four things are only telecommunications. There are plenty of expenses out there.
I'd say that it's noticeable.
But given the choice I'd prefer having the option of cancelling my cable, cell, and internet and saving money than being gouged directly off my income.
One way or the other, the government is going to get the money it wants.
It's just a matter of where it's going to come from.
