Huh? This whole thread has always been about lateness, not the number of people in attendance. That book that Jai was talking about in the subject title of this thread "...buying this book as a gift", is a book about dealing with chronic lateness. In the picture I posted, I noted the time as 11:50am, and it wasn't a picture to say that the pews were empty, just that they were empty at that specific time. There ended up being like 35 people in attendance at around 12:30pm on that same Sunday.

No wonder it seemed like we were talking about different things haha

I think lying (or making excuses) and commitment issues are problems that can come out of chronic lateness.

either case, whatever it was that we're talking about, i still don't think lateness in itself should be a problem for worship. there could be other things at hand, yet, but to me it sounds like new life is only addressing the fact that very little show up on time. i.e. if lateness were attributed to things like chronic excuse-making or lack of commitment, what is done to address those areas?

i think (and this is just an outsider speaking) that maybe what needs to be done for the sake of the worship team(s) is to sit down and have a serious chat about the lateness issue, and speak candidly as to why it bothers you and such. because to be honest, i'm hearing several different standpoints towards this, and it sounds to me like you guys aren't really sure what's bothering you (although it stems from the lateness, there could be something deeper at hand). but again, that's just an outsider's opinion.
