well, ben didn't actually have the right of way... by the letter of the law, the lady had the right of way and ben's at fault.. but is that fair? no, but that's why you slow down when you see some idiot j walking

no, it's not his right of way... if you ever make a left turn on an amber light and you get hit, it's always your fault... unless you can prove the light turned red already... i'm pretty sure in this situation, if you get hit turning left, it's your fault... the person going straight almost always has the right of way because it's their lane.. you're crossing their lane to get where you wanna get. doesn't matter who was there first...

More often than not, I'm that guy sitting there and is being c-blocked by everybody else whizzing by me on the right and not allowing me to pass on the right. Oh well. You snooze, you lose I guess.

50/50? i dunno... most of the time i hear these things happening, the left turning is closer to 100%

Lately I've been getting the impression that ICBC doesn't care about who is right or wrong. All they care about is money. They seem to be getting the reputation of blaming the side that is injured. It's cheap to replace a vehicle compared to having to pay out medical expenses.

But maybe that's a topic for another thread.
