I have my parents tied in with my account... They get $25 150 daytime minutes circle calling is always free (everyone on my account) e/w 5pm -7am u/l text. I got their CID and V/M added on and then credited for the contract and i just put them on a $10 / 100MB flex data plan with our old iphones. they've yet to go over the $35 / month. Just imessaging and push email.

Yeah, she was going over like nuts cuz she was using her phone as a GPS.
She switched over to a 6GB plan now though.

What some people have done is get a larger data plan and got rid of their home internet. I don't think i could do that though.

that's only worthwhile if you do nothing but surf... downloading media and other things will suck up 6gb fast... i can d/l a 6gb movie in one shot

so fido has some holiday deals going on right now. the one that interested me was $25 for everything on my retention plan minus 50 daytime minutes but including canada-wide calling and free unlimited international texting. pretty good deal for those who don't care about data and don't talk too much on the phone.

and if you do care about data, $25 extra will give you 2gb and is a comparable deal to fido's current $56 talk + data plan promotion (except you save 6 bucks).

Yeah, their plans have been getting pretty competitive lately, I've noticed.

i switched winnie and myself over starting january's billing cycle. apparently one of the credits in her retention plan expired and didn't renew when i renewed her contract. so technically, this plan is cheaper than hers.

i'm still stuck with my piddly data plan though, because it's a 3 year contract data plan. apparently, fido doesn't offer that kind of stuff anymore so in order to NOT break contract, i'd have to switch to a max plan ($55+).

yeah, i've been checking the fido site every week or so to see what deals they're having, and they switch up a lot. the cheapest so far that i've seen was the $57 one they're talking about.
