i wonder if i can get alicia on the updated $40/mo plan... she was on the old one... maybe i can double her minutes and data...

that being said, she never goes over anyways so what's the point lol

if you go month by month, then you can. if you're on contract still, it depends on the term of your contract (i.e. a 3-year can only be swapped for another 3-year for the duration of the term, and 2-year for a 2-year).

if she's already on a 2-year contract, then she can get on the $40, but she won't get the half price i don't think. i think the half price is for new contracts (not new customers).

yea, she's on a 2 year contract that expires this sept i think... i was thinking of renewing her contract when it expires and getting the new iphone they release this year for cheap, and taking it for myself lol... cuz my contract expires next year, and when it does, i'll get another HUP and take the next phone for myself and give her the iphone i took from her HUP back to her lols...

they have tonnes of promotions now. 50% off for the first few months, first month free, etc etc. once the q10 drops i may have to jump on a new plan/contract (although i was going to jump ship for rogers).

crap, nevermind they got rid of the 50% for whatever months and first month free, which sucks because that's a better deal than saving a buck plus tax over 2 years.

i also noticed that they changed their evenings/weekends start time from 5pm to 6pm. not sure if that makes a difference for anyone given how much our society talks on the phone these days anymore.

with fido's plans being so cheap, i'm seriously contemplating just renewing my contract early, getting on this new plan (apparently, i can't just swap my current plan to a new one as i have an old regular plan with a data package, which cannot be renewed as one of those "max" plans or whatever).

is anyone even on retention anymore? or try to get on? i wonder how much i could save if i still tried.

so i called fido today to see if there's any way for me to cancel my contract and get on the new cheap ass $39 plan. the guy said since i'm on an old 3-year contract, i can't switch over unless i completely cancel. and because i'm on 2 contracts, one for voice and one for data, i'd have to pay double cancellation. i was thinking, this is so dumb man. i only have like 3 more months left on my contract and i've been going over on data every month for like a year now. he quoted me $100 each cancellation. or i could get onto a $55 plan which basically gives me 150 more mb a month for $15 extra a month.

i was like, forget it. i was just hoping to increase my data a bit, but whatever. he told me to hold the line. after a long wait, he came back and gave me an extra 500mb a month for the remainder of my contract (october)... for free.

I changed my parents to the $42 plan in March and since the new $39 plan came out, Fido proactively gave me 10% off my parents plans for as long as I keep that package. Finally doing something right there.

so i'm just a few weeks away from my contract expiring, i'm hearing rumours about retentions not working any more because of something that i forget.
what's the word on the street? not sure when the iphone 5s is dropping, usually fido brings out pretty good deals at that time.
