So I lost my phone two Saturdays ago (Oct 24th). I suspect it dropped out of my pocket while I was visiting my grandparents' gravesites.
Tuesday morning (two days ago), my dad tells me that a lady may have found my phone. She called him Monday night and the conversation went something like this:
My Dad: Hello?
Lady: Hi, is this dad?
md: ....excuse me?
l: Is this dad?
md: This is A dad
l: Oh sorry. I found a phone, looked in the phone book and thought it would be best to call "Dad"
Also, the lady left a message on the machine at my office Monday night asking for "Joseph Liu" and saying that she found my phone. I guess she also found "Work" in my phone book as well.
Anyway, my dad makes a plan to pickup the phone Tuesday after work. The lady lives near the cemetary so I guess I did drop it in that area. I run out at lunch Tuesday to buy a container of strawberries plus write her a thank you note and give it to my dad to give to the lady.
I get my phone back yesterday (Wednesday). I turn it on, and there is one bar of battery left.
I am grateful for that lady, and for getting my phone back. But I am also majorly confused, because:
1. Why is there one battery bar left? My phone runs out of battery in a week under normal usage. If the lady found it on Monday, Nov 2nd, that would be 9 days from when I lost it. And the battery wasn't full when I dropped it.
2. Why is the phone still working? Yes, it was in a case but said case isn't water-proof. Remember, it was pouring rain the weekend of 24-25th (Tyson's birthday) I remember thinking even if I found my phone, it would have been waterlogged by now. For sure I didn't spend any time in the covered areas at the cemetary (I don't even remember there being any covered areas there)
3. When the lady left a message at my office, she asked for "Joseph Liu". How did she know my name? I'm forgetful, but I'm pretty sure I didn't put my own number under my own name in my phone book (I checked)
Curiouser and curiouser...
