come to think of it..... who else among our circle of friends, apart from Inhee and you two nerds, actually drive a VeeDub, and who else among our circle of friends actually like VW's? I'm not even talking about being a VW fanatic, I'm talking actually will buy a VW based on it being a better option to them over others in a similar class?
Our group seems to be very low side of german representation

I was just noticing that the %'age of German (mostly VW's as they are the most represented out there) vehicles in our group is unusually low. I look out into our parking lot right now and I would say that at least a good 35-40% of the vehicles are German (of which like 80% of them are VW's) It's strange that in our group, the VW ownership is so low....
that's what I was getting at, I understand that Audi/BMW/Merc/Porsche ownership would be less as it is price prohibitive, but among all the people we know collectively, I thought that there would be more VW owners cuz they at least compete in the same price points as the Mazda's / Honda's and such. I find it strange that the %age is that low and am wondering if it is because the rest of you (except Nathan) just don't like VW's...

i think only now are vw's competitively priced. until before this year, a base model golf (excluding city golf fiasco) was priced over a base model civic, mazda3, focus or corolla. now that the jetta is a piece of crap priced at under $20, they're finally at par with the other offerings in their class.
but if get any small number of people (i assume you're only including around 10-15 people in this, there are WAY more vw owners out of new life, which is really our common denominator), you can't get an accurate cross section of society anyway. like you realise how few people really know anything about galaxy rangers? lol. or even how few of us use macs as our main computers.
it appears that a typical group, we definitely are not.
