They changed the traffic lane lines on Dawson near Willingdon. It's confusing and I almost got into an accident here. I drew a pic of it as best I could... what do you think is the proper way? Right lane traffic merges left, or left lane merges right?
Keep in mind, up until where the white line disappears, the right lane is a parking lane, but no one usually parks there.

Oh, you have to scroll down on the picture window to see the complete street.

Oh and also, the yellow box doesn't cut off the left lane as abruptly as I drew it... I just couldn't really draw that well on the MS Paint program. There are more curves and angles to it, and the part where it's one lane is in the middle of the two lanes

it's pretty uncommon to have left lane merges ever.. so i would assume right lane merges even though based on your picture it looks like the other way around.

Looks kinda ambiguous.
Here's a link from australia (so it may or may not apply):
http://www.seniorsmovingsafely.org.au/road_rules.htmlBased on the way you drew the lines on the road it appears to match case 2... Form One Lane, in which case the car in front has the right of way.
Are there no other road signs?

Nope, there are no other signs or road markings. Usually, there are arrows marked on the road that point which way to merge, or it has one of those merge right/left road signs... but here, there is nothing.
I emailed the City of Burnaby traffic department, and they said that this road is consistent with other similar roads in Burnaby. I haven't driven on every road there is in Burnaby, but I can honestly say I have not seen any that are done like this.

Oh sorry, there are signs... signs that say "2 hour parking 3pm - 6pm".
It being a parking lane makes me want to say that right lane merges to the left lane because the left lane is a proper lane. The lady who almost crashed into me seems to think otherwise. She thinks the left lane should go into the left turn lane.

i would say that the left lane is the left turn lane and the left lane before that should merge into the right lane. but i only say that based on your weird picture, i haven't actually driven there.
i suppose this is a question about yielding? i find that a lot of merging lanes yield right of way rules go straight out the window. like the merge on the marine to knight street onramp. no one cares man. if there's a car in your way, just don't hit it. that's the new rule.

OOOOOHHHHH i thought the solid white line was the parking lane. that's why it seemed confusing. you probably shouldn't have used an all black background, i assumed that the whole thing was the road. i guess the solid white is the curb?
hm, that does seem to be a dilly of a pickle now. my suggestion then is to take lougheed instead lol.

It's pretty bad when there's a lot of traffic.
