I have a feeling I have tooth fragments still stuck inside my lip from my injury.

I asked the doctor at the ER to fish out the tooth fragments before stitching me up, he kinda just washed it with salt water. I dont think he actually got everything out. It feels like there might be still a big chunk of my tooth stuck in my lip somewhere.

Anyone know if the body breaks down teeth lodged into your body or somehow rejects it? Or should i go in for some xrays and surgery to get them yanked out? Will the lodged tooth get infected and release bacterial into my blood stream and etc..?

"your body won't be able to break down teeth, so if there are any remaing it'll be there forever unless u remove it, if your going to get an infection you would of gotten it already, you won't get any toxic poisoning. If it's causing discomfort you should try to get it removed, the dentist should be able to get a x-ray of the area"


i would just leave it in there but in judo i get my face rubbed alot. I can see how if theres a jagged tooth stuck in my lip it might get totally messed up in the future

stupid freaking dentist.. i asked him to check last time and he didnt do a thing
and stupid doctor.. i told him theres tonnes of teeth stuck in my lips and he said he flushed it all out and picked it all out
then he stitched my lip up with teeth still in there

If you got teeth chips inside your lip and they've healed over, then they're stuck there.

no, just dig them out. it'll hurt like a sonomabich, but hey, canker sores are the new herpes.
