Beautiful baby girl born July 15th 2011 at 3:51pm just under 5lbs. I think the actual weight was 4lbs 15.7oz. She's 6 weeks premature so she's got to stay in the NICU for a few weeks, usually until her term date which would be August 24. Alicia had to undergo the emergency c section because the doctors weren't seeing very significant growth over a week and the amniotic fluid seemed low which are all signs of a low functioning placenta. In that situation, it's better to have the baby out and be fed formula/breast milk than it be inside the womb and not get the proper nutrients. Other than the fact that she's premature and a little small, she's healthy.

For now, while Alicia's recovering, we're only allowing visits to immediate family because the visits eat into Alicia's vital rest/recovery period. Plus, i can only bring 1 person into the NICU at a time with me to see the baby. We don't want a repeat of last time with Hayden when 20 people from church showed up after service. Not that we didn't appreciate it, but in Alicia's best interest, visits to see baby would probably be best when we can bring baby home.

We still haven't picked a name for baby yet, but we have narrowed it down to a few. I'll give you the short list:

Ivonna
Melikealotta
