so now that it's tourist season, i have friends visiting vancouver from around canada and the states. being born and raised here like many of you, i've taken advantage of the tourist stuff to do around here.

what are some cool places that you'd direct visitors to? restaurants or attractions. we're talking in general too, since there's a wide variety of nerds coming.

It's all about the nature stuff here... best in the world. Hiking in the mountains, suspension bridge, canoeing, speed boating, one of the flower gardens, etc.

Playland is open... but depending on where they're coming from, Playland might be cool or it might be totally lame.
Night Market is a cool atmosphere. Food's great there too.

I heard the number 1 place that people in Vancouver suggest for tourists to check out is Pacific Centre mall.

If they are girls make sure you bring them to my house

well, the earliest people are coming this monday (when i'm not here haha), and i think they're just here for a day.
they heard about the suspension bridge, but i'm not sure if that'll be their thing. since they're only here for a day, the night market is out...
i'll just suggest some nature stuff i guess.

and i'll tell them to steer clear of jt's house. i hear a lot of std's live there.

granville island, stanley park, science world, vancouver aquarium, downtown (lots of place to go, see and eat), white caps, bc lions, vancouver cdns, various mtns (grouse, chief, whistler)

as for food, i guess nw seafood restaurants are probably more specific to this region. if your guests aren't from asia, then i think vancouver also probably has some of the better asian
cuisines in comparison to most of NA.

some upcoming events also include: celebration of lights (july 30, aug 3, aug 6),
pride parade (july 31)

Bring them to Seattle... that's a part of Vancouver right?

get them to ride the skytrain to all the stations and back. They'll get a greater sense of what GVR is all about. From all Chinese Richmond, to all brown surrey and scattered white ppl everywhere else.
