regardless of morals/opinions/paradigm, this is just bad business practice.

agree that it's bad practice and bad business, but actually, i believe any retailer has the right to refuse service to anyone they choose. I remember when i worked at bootlegger, the managers used to tell us that, and if there were any customers making us feel weird or whatever reason, we have the right to send them away.

still, i think this is a little much.

no, you can send them out if they are acting like trouble, but you cannot send someone out or refuse service because they're gay. that's called discrimination.

if that were the case, then i can say, i don't like asians, so i refuse to serve any asians. that's discrimination.
but you CAN say, i don't like guys who are carrying large knives and are swinging them around the store, so i refuse to serve them. two totally different things.

You can actually refuse service to anyone without having to give any reason. However, store owner was pretty specific in his/her discrimination in the reason for refusing service, so that was a pretty dumb move.

then that applies to anything. i have the right to kill you too.

the point is that the store owner was discriminating, and discrimination is illegal.
