Can't really be mad about it though... it's fair democratic process.

Besides... the results aren't binding. They're expecting the fight to continue on through the Supreme Court.

It must be all of the aging/retiring baby-boomers who have no intention of working anymore. They don't care about income tax.

i thought retirees still get taxed on retirement income like pensions, cpp. rrsps, etc..

In the end I don't think income tax affects them as much.

my understanding is that it income tax affects retired ppl the same, so long as they have some source of income.

you could possibly get a few tax breaks for being a senior or something...

My point is that they no longer need to earn $20,000 a year, which is taxable in the year they earned it, solely for the sake of investing in their future. I'm speaking of investments over their RRSP limits.

By raising my income tax, I have less money to invest in my future... regardless of my spending habits. Retirees do not have this concern.

i think it's also the restaurant and real estate industry that voted it down...

sigh... if only 5% of the voters were smarter...

Do we want money from Ottawa?? Nope. Do we want to create jobs thru building businesses and the economy? Nope. Do we want handouts? Yes.
