Hey, it's not as rock solid stable as a $400 Gitzo or my Manfrotto, but for a freaking $48 including shipping to point roberts, it's a freaking deal. Just the ball head on a Gitzo will run you $180 on a boxing day door crasher price.
It has pretty much all the same features and it's NOT PLASTIC.
Get it.

hmm.. maybe i'll just pay the $30 shipping from ebay so i don't have to waste my time driving to PR and then going in to pay taxes. I'd probably save like $15 doing the amazon one but $15 isn't really worth a whole afternoon of my time... yea, probably ebay then...
thnx
and yes... yes i am a human tripod

that's pretty cheap!
but at 3lbs, don't try to take pics on a windy day or with a heavy lens.
but the general rule of thumb would be any tripod is better than no tripod. just don't wander too far away.

That's why there's a hook on the bottom of the centre column, to hang your bag to help stabilize.

i didn't notice that. but if you're just doing indoor photography i guess it's moot anyway.

97% of the time it'd probably be indoor anyways... in any case, my cousin said he had a spare tripod he could give/lend me so i might just try his out and see if it's any good... if not, i'll pick this one up

if he has a spare that he's willing to give, then i'm thinking it's probably crap. indoor or not, a light tripod will give all kinds of vibrations.

he's the type to not buy crap... but even if it is crap, i'm no pro and i wont be using it for much more than christmas photos once a year... and if it's total crap, i'll just buy the one jai suggested... oh well

pro or not, a toppled tripod still results in a damaged camera. ask me how i almost know that.
