not really sure what these guys are trying to accomplish and/or how living on a lawn is going to accomplish it.

I think it's a huge waste of time and effort because like you said, I'm not really sure what they are trying to accomplish. I don't think anyone really is sure, not even themselves. They just know that the economy is bad and they want the government to help them.

I never understood why all these protests take place in front of the Art Gallery either.

I guess they march in front of the Art Gallery because there is no wall street in vancouver.

the living on the lawn is just about peaceful protesting. i see it better than some other alternatives. They have at least gotten the attention of at least the 4 people who posted in this thread.

I'd suspect that even the '99%' are among the 1% world-wide.

yeah, i was talking to some people about this and it's interesting what the actual perspective is. they say that they're the 99%, but only because they're in the top of that 99%. they're likely in the top 3-4% of the world, but who cares about the other 96%, as long as they get what they want, then let the bottom 96% fend for themselves.

i read something that this whole movement is stupid in canada, because our tax structure is totally different than that of the US.

It's always minority groups that are the most vocal, often misrepresenting the actual majority group they claim to represent.

you don't necessarily have to be part of the bottom 96% in order to protest on their behalf...
just like you don't have to be an animal, to protest for animal rights...

i don't know if they are sincere on wanting to change the world or just their own lives. i guess you'd only know by talking to these people.
