what i meant is that the life cycle of these video formats are roughly only 8 (probably closer to 10) years before the next best thing since sliced bread is developed and released... according to wikipedia, dvds were developed and released in 1995, and blurays were developed in 2003 and players release in 2006... i guess you could say around 11 yrs... it's 2011 now and technically bluray has been around for 5 years so the next thing will probably be developed in the next 2-3 years and ready for market in 5... you buy a bd player now or ps3, doesn't really matter because it should last you until the next thing comes out that we're all gonna fall in line to buy. Granted a bd player could be had for < $100 like you said, but i like the ps3 because it's kinda like a media centre too.. i stream a buncha crap for hayden and even alicia off that thing. not to mention it plays games haha...
