apparently gap is having a pretty good sale up here in canada for black friday. online too.
i considered going to the states, but right now i'm too poor from living like a baller for the last 2 hours (i took some expensive vitamins this morning).

i don't like using a controller as a remote. and yes, i know i can buy a remote, but i'd rather just have a dedicated bluray player.

Yeah, dedicated bluray players are better if you're just wanting to play movies. That way, if the motor or laser burns out, it'll hurt less to replace it.

anyway, winnie saw an lg bluray player at best buy for like $40, but she saw it too late, they're all sold out.

yea, but by the time the laser is burned out, there's a new format... vcds, dvds, and now blurays.. it'll only last like 8 years anyways before the next format is out... you're not gonna play/watch that much so that the laser/motor burns out unless you've bought a lemon...

dvd's have only been out for 8 years?

what i meant is that the life cycle of these video formats are roughly only 8 (probably closer to 10) years before the next best thing since sliced bread is developed and released... according to wikipedia, dvds were developed and released in 1995, and blurays were developed in 2003 and players release in 2006... i guess you could say around 11 yrs... it's 2011 now and technically bluray has been around for 5 years so the next thing will probably be developed in the next 2-3 years and ready for market in 5... you buy a bd player now or ps3, doesn't really matter because it should last you until the next thing comes out that we're all gonna fall in line to buy. Granted a bd player could be had for < $100 like you said, but i like the ps3 because it's kinda like a media centre too.. i stream a buncha crap for hayden and even alicia off that thing. not to mention it plays games haha...
