the fabled unicorn has finally arrived. native email, contacts, and calendar apps. i was up when they released it last night at around 2am (5am est), and it took about 10 minutes to download and install. and then i was up for another hour and a half just playing with it. the best part is bridge 2.0, where i can use my phone's touch screen as a mouse and keyboard as a keyboard on my playbook. no more crappy touch screen typing. however, the virtual keyboard and typing has improved with the addition of the number keys on top when needed (instead of switching views) and "suggested" words on top using first few letters and context (sometimes without even the first few letters). i set up my email and stuff, and then i just deleted them because i can still bridge to my phone, which i liked to do more anyway. the same goes with my calendar, i'm sure there's a way to sync the two but i just didn't have a chance to play around with it to figure it out yet.

more customisability overall, but i haven't been able to play with android apps yet. nor did i do any reading on it since i've been sorta busy here at work. nicer app store, but still waiting for skype. and a kindle app would be nice.

you can install android apps on your playbook? i didn't know they were going to add that compatibility. Does that mean they're gonna give up on their own bb apps?

You can get Kindle and Skype through the Android app store.

yeah, os2.0 has the ability to run android apps natively. the bad thing is that not all android developers cared enough to port them over (apparently a really simple process), so the selection is slim as of right now. and i think there are still a bunch of bb developers that will still develop bb apps, but this was to more than double the app selection.

so as of right now, no kindle or skype for my playbook. that freaking sucks.

Apparently qnx is supposed to a LOT easier to develop apps for compared to the old bb os

i wouldn't be surprised. the reason why bb os has such crappy apps is because developing for that os is a nightmare. they had to revamp everything in order to get into the app game. the bad thing about that is that the old bb developer's apps are rendered useless when bb10 rolls around.
