It's pretty sad that from the beginning, most of the winning press photos are of times where human kind is showing off it's worst side.

having said that, anyone ever wonder why people just let photographers take these sorts of pictures and not do anything to help? if they were taking pictures of me during a time of need and decided to take a picture instead of doing something more productive, i know i'd be pissed.

yeah, it sucks living at the tail end of the time zones. we always have to wake up earlier and earlier. someone should take a picture of that plight. i'm sure it'll win awards.
