just because she "looks" asian doesn't mean she is... and even if she is, we all know that asians are the only race smart enough to be on $100+ bills... lol.. oh wait

yeah i saw this article too and was like wtf? it'd be nice if we used our tax dollars on something useful instead of re-designing supposedly ethnically stereotyping banknotes...
and since when did caucasian becoming "ethnically neutral"? it's no more neutral than asian, hispanic or africian... if they want ethnically neutral i guess they'll just need to draw stick people on the bills.

she was asian from what i read, and most people in their focus group weren't happy about it.
to be honest, i don't know if i would be either, isn't it kind of racist saying that asian women are scientists? the picture now could be asian or caucasian, just not black.

i think it's racist depending on how you choose to look at it. Even if the lady was actually intended to be asian, why does it HAVE to mean that all asians are scientists? I think it's racist to say it's racist that all asians are scientists haha... Now that a "caucasian-looking figure" is on there instead, does it mean all caucasians are scientists? no... I think in this day an age where everyone is so PC sensitive, there's always someone who's just out to stir the pot because there's a pot to stir... I'm sure some people did actually think it was racist, but to put an "asian" on the bank note and then stripping it from the note, it also conveys a message that asians are not worthy of being on canadian notes, which is pretty racists lol. You can spin racism in any way you want these days. What should they do instead? have one person from each ethnicity that makes up canada on the bill?
I suppose that's why you put dead prime ministers or prominent canadian figures on the notes...

I don't think using the image of an asian scientist would really be racist or stereotypical. Just do a Google image search for 'Asian'. I didn't notice a single image of a scientist.

here we go with the asian google search again lol.
to be honest, i could care less what image is on the bill. asian, caucasian, indian, martian, i don't care as long as i can use it to pay for stuff.

but that's my point... it's not really racist... people are just starting sh!t for the sake of starting sh!t... it's kinda annoying...
