Also, how the heck do you help someone when it takes an hour to download two tiny programs... then you have to have them do it again 'cause they forgot which folder they put them in?

Then you ask for a screenshot and it takes over an hour to do that??
It takes 10 minutes to drill down to the Startup folders.
They don't know the difference between Desktop, Internet Explorer, and Windows Explorer.

I'd tell them to reinstall windows7, but I'm pretty sure they didn't even include the DVD when they bought their laptop. Not to mention the hassle it'll be trying to reinstall their software/email/etc. Do you think THEY remember their email/router/etc passwords??

CSIS?? Are you in some kind of trouble?

No, it's a scam... malware that says it's csis/fbi/metropolitan/etc, depending on where you live.
Basically it's ransomware which locks up your computer so you can't do anything until you pay a fine. Of course paying the fine doesn't unlock your system.

It's not on my system but someone else's.
