anyone use these guys? thinking about ordering from them because they're super cheap. not sure if i should bother with waiting for a free coupon, since most of the nice frames aren't even included in those offers.

the best i could find was a 15% off coupon.

I rarely ever see you wear glasses. Not even at home when I catch you by surprise. You sleep in your contacts for cryin out loud!
My point being... why do you need nice frames if you're just wearing them in secret?

never bought actual glasses from them before. Alicia buys contacts from them though. They're usually pretty quick and one time they shipped Alicia the wrong brand of contacts and they quickly mailed her a return postage label for her to mail back the wrong set and and then promptly sent her the correct pair.

Isn't it hard to pick out a pair of glasses online? what if they don't fit well or they're fugly on your face?

They have this tool where you can upload a pic of your face, and then they put a picture of the glasses on top of your pic so you see how it looks.

i have an idea of what i want, and if i don't like them, returning them is free.
it's not the convenience that i'm after though, it's the price. i priced out a pair of high index scratch/shatter/reflection proof lenses (and my eyes are BAD) with paul frank frames and it ended up to be just over $200 with tax and shipping.

the free pairs however are ugly as heck. like, really bad. i have metal frames right now and they're super uncomfortable. i'm going back to plastic, and the free plastic ones are pretty lame.

that problem with buying the glasses online is the comfort/fit i think. whether or not they look good on some uploaded picture tells you nothing about how it fits on your face or sits on your nose/ears etc...

i also use clearly contacts for my contacts tho'.

they have measurements and stuff on there too.
what i found with my current glasses is that they felt fine in the store, but it was when they put my heavy ass lenses in them that messed it all up.

i found that all the free coupons apply only to the ugly ass frames and not any lenses anyway, so i did some more digging and found a 20% off all frames coupon. so i ordered and the total ended up to be $195 and change.

we'll see what they're like when they arrive, hopefully early next week.

I've heard costco is a great place to buy glasses, especially in the states. never been though.

the bad thing about buying glasses in the states is that if your eyes are as bad as mine, they don't carry the super high index lenses. apparently they don't fall under their safety code or something weird like that.

so unless you don't mind thick ass lenses, you might want to stick to canada.

OR as suggested to me by my great optometrist friend, buy just the frames there and get the lenses in canada.

having said that, i still just got it from clearly contacts because seriously, you can't beat under $200 after all is said and done.

i don't know why i'm so anxious to get these glasses, they're just glasses.
but i found myself checking the purolator site several times yesterday and today to track my shipment. delay after delay, and i still don't have them.
