A lot of what I liked about WebOS is very apparent here with BB10. I'm actually looking forward to upgrading my work phone finally. Still, I think BB doesn't have enough money to hang on over the next 5 years, especially with Android's rapid growth and improvements every 6 months or so. Unlike Apple that takes a year or BB that takes a lifetime.

Looks pretty good.. but then again, the same could be said about all the other OS's as well. I think Windows Phone 8 and Android OS both look great as well. Coming out with a great OS unfortunately can't win the game for them though. Hopefully they still have enough funding to build up their ecosystem, because that's the difference maker.

The thing I think is the problem is that everyone thinks that bb has to be a consumer device to stay afloat. Rim will be around for a while because the government depends on their devices.
I always thought bb was superior for communications, and I think bb hub proves it. However, whether or not the masses pick up on it is a different story, albeit one that I don't think makes a huge difference.

It's not what everyone thinks... it's what's actually happening. If RIM could survive on just the government business, then they wouldn't be in so much trouble right now.

I agree that Blackberries are superior communications devices, but superior by how much and does that edge in communications superiority really matter. I think the market has shown that that edge isn't really as big of a deal breaker/maker as it was before.

they may not survive as we know it, but they'll still be around on a smaller scale.

either case, i just watched the vid (i originally assumed it'd be something i saw already), and some things look pretty cool. what i'm not impressed with is how gigantic those icons are. how many apps are you going to fit on one page? 12? currently on my 9900 with a smaller screen i can fit 24. that's kinda dumb i think.

it'll be interesting to see how the market takes this.

side-by-side comparison between iphone 5 and bb z10 (not sure if that's still a rumoured name).
i'm not sure how much i trust these things for a couple reasons:
1) iphone 5 has been out for like 4 months now
2) we don't know if the z10 (if even called that) will be just like this at launch

if anything, it's worth the watch because german parkinson's (you have to see it to know what i mean).
oh, the guy speaks only german, but there are subtitles which aren't too comprehensive. but you can see hard/software differences yourself.

A few issues I have with these types of side by side comparisons:

- it's easy to "one up" the competition when you design a product specifically to "one up" the competition
- one will invariably be overall better than the other
- being marginally better in comparison doesn't ensure user satisfaction

In fact, some people will have read these types of comparisons and go out and buy the "better" product based on the review only to find that even though the product stacks up better, they would've been happier with the other one.

I'd rather read reviews on personal opinion of the product.

yeah, i'd agree with you there.
however, i don't know if everyone does since people still don't understand why i still use a blackberry lol. the dubberz forum is the worst.

i wasn't talking about the side to side comparisons, i was talking about how it's more user opinion based on personal experience.

so what i'm saying is that i don't care what the previous specs of blackberries were compared to iphones and such, what i care about is my own personal user experience but no one seems to understand that because they think i'm stupid for using a bb as my main device (not so much here but in general).
