so just by chance i woke up in a violent hack attack this morning, and i looked at the clock and was like, hey, i can catch the live launch of bb10.
aside from RIM's ceo thorstein heinz or whatever being a total awkward and goofy public speaker (but still better than , these are the highlights:
-already knew about the hub, flow and keyboard, nothing new there
-blackberry remember is a cool feature that allows you to "tag" any content (url, doc, email, pic, vid, voice note, etc) and put in a folder for later reference. folders are customizable so you can work on multiple projects using this.
-camera with the time lapse feature was also leaked
-RIM is no longer RIM, but officially just "blackberry"
-alicia keys is the new world wide creative director. really. alicia keys. i lol'ed. after her speech (that i skipped to brush my teeth), she said to blackberry ceo "see you in the office". really. alicia keys.
-bb10 full touch is called bb z10, and full qwerty is called bb q10. effing stupid names.
-phones hit stores as soon as tomorrow in UK, tuesday in canada, and end of feb in the states for roughly the same price as the iphones with 3 year contracts.

all in all, i'll probably still get the dumbly named q10 for the keyboard, but i'm a little disappointed with the pricing. i thought they were going to go for cheaper but they matched the price of the company that rim kept saying was over priced. stupid. but the blackberry remember and hub are the two things that i'm most looking forward to.

just checked fido's website. z10 is $350 with a 2 year contract. wtf man. i guess i won't be getting one.

will.i.am is with intel. that is the really bizarre one.

There was even a last fairwell tweet I believe from her iPhone just before the announcement. Her following tweet about the new position was from the web.

The new BBM does look very appealing. Group Video chat and screen sharing would prove useful to me at work. Let's hope that the execution is up to snuff. It probably won't be half bad if they are dropping all the email traffic off of the BB secure servers. That should free up a TON of bandwidth seeing as how they're keeping it just for BBM now.

Imagine how popular Group Orgy Video Sexting will be.

i guess this explains why RIMM stock sharply dropped 8% after about 10am EST...

Wow, that's bad news. I thought that BB10 launch would've helped the stock prices for sure.
Or maybe they're all selling the RIMM stocks since the company is no longer called RIM, and now they're looking for the new BB stocks haha.
