You'd need to be able to sell the diamonds though.. They've all got serial numbers laser etched into them these days.

i'm sure there would be black market dealers. and with a heist this big, i'd bet the diamonds were already sold before they were "acquired".

they were uncut rough diamonds, so they wouldn't have any serial numbers on them yet.
