I've seen this one before. I read that the battery life on this is horrible due to the cpu processor in it. Plus it doesn't really do anything that special other than the light focus which a lot of cheaper flashlights do as well.

and lol at the fact that you already did research on probably the most obscure flashlight out there.
a fleshlight, on the other hand...
...or perhaps no hand at all.

I wonder how they test the light to claim 300m.

you mean other than turning it on and measuring how far you can see?

The LED street lights that are 100W don't even make that claim.

if their light meter comes up with 0.001 lumens, that can be from the moon.

Street lights have a wide angle focus, so the light output is spread out. This flashlight has a focus lens, so the light output goes far rather than wide.
Like I said, this flashlight actually isn't really that special, other than maybe that processor chip that regulates output, which is probably overkill on a flashlight. There are way fancier flashlights out there though. LIke this bad boy:

man alive when i said you love flashlights, it was a total understatement.
but just like how hid's are focussed light, i'd think that flashlights are focussed as well as opposed to street lamps.

There are focused ones as well at 8 degree beams angles, so that is pretty focused, still, they don't claim 300m. I have them, i would know. Mr. Singh has a flashlight that was good for 3 city blocks, but it was a $300 flashlight and the size of a canon.
All these light output ratings, 500, 1000, 10,000 is at the source of the light. When it's 20 feet away, it's a lot lower, at 300m (1050ft), like it said, it could be the moon. That flashlight was 5W. If it was a 5W laser beam flashlight, maybe.

i don't get what you mean by it could be the moon. the moon doesn't emit light, it just reflects it.
either case, i don't even know why you'd need a flashlight to shine up to 300m. what the heck is so far that you need to see it? can you even see it if it's lit up anyway?

it's a highbay, but the same components are used for the street light version. Of course with the street light your not going with a 8 degree pattern.
