a lot of flack on this one. however, i don't know if i entirely disagree with him. see related article on crackberry:

i think it makes sense that as our phones get more advanced, the need for a large tablet will soften. that's one of the main reasons why i was thinking about getting a note2, as i don't really want to carry two devices.

hell, isn't that the reason why our phones are so "smart"? who wants to carry a phone, a pager, a calculator, an mp3 player, and a laptop everywhere they go?

I think mini notebooks were a fad... but I think tablets are here to stay. I see tablets and smartphones merging somehow, but a smartphone is basically a tablet with phone capabilities, which is why I don't really consider that as tablets disappearing.

Maybe it was just a matter of terminology then. It's not that there's no future in tablets, just that tablets and smartphones will probably be merging.

Tablets are a fad, who would of thought. I've been saying since the first ipad came out.

Tablet is pretty much just a large smart phone that you dont use for calling people. You only really use it for the larger screen and possibly a better cpu.
Personally I have no real use for a tablet. Laptop and smartphone serves all my needs.

Something like Google glass will replace the tablet and smartphone. The only drawback with google class is you dont have a screen for multiple people to see.
