lately i've been going to branigans at brentwood and have this chinese lady cut it. she's not bad. she takes her time and analyses your head and face and even your job to figure out what's a good cut for you. apparently (i just found out yesterday), that she used to work for an upscale salon in downtown that catered mostly to rich japanese businessmen, but she left because it was too busy there.

anyway, her name is lena and a cut is only around $20 plus tax and tip.

they have other stylists there of course, but i didn't like any of them. they talk a lot and don't seem to give a rat's ass about how you look.

Hm, interesting. I've been looking for a new place to get my hair cut since that Joyce station place has gone down in quality.

$20 is a bit more expensive than Joyce though.

yeah, i've been giving her about a 5 dollar tip, so total will be just under $30.

and didn't that korean place on joyce charge on a sliding scale anyway? as in if the owner liked you, she'd charge you less and if she didn't, she'd charge you more?

No, it's a flat rate... they don't charge you tax if you pay cash though.

oh haha. i remember reading a review on the place (actually winnie looked it up) and someone commented on that they charge whatever they feel like depending on their current mood.

There's a bunch on Victoria that's only $10, and that's with a 20% tip.

i don't want to drive that far.

so i went to get my hair cut on sunday before service at Joyce Hair Design, and who walks in while i was in the chair? Nathanael.. lol... he says JT told him about it... go figure, word of mouth does work on these forums...

that place is actually open on sundays? i thought they were hardcore christians.

one of them always dresses like a skank

so does that gay guy still work there? i never left there entirely happy with how they cut my hair (or how that gay guy cut my hair, he always seemed to jump up these few times i walked in there, even when there was a bunch of them standing around).
