Thought this was a really good talk. Eric X. Li, a political scientist gives a pretty good argument that Democracy should not be universalised. He does this using China as a prime example.

There's corruption in every country, no matter the type of gov't. Italy's old PM just got charged. China recently had a few, except they get the death penalty there. USA during the elections have "money men" from each party paying ppl to vote, Taiwan does the same. They hire "consulting" agencies that use fake voter lists to donate funds. It's all the same.

Each form of gov't has it's pros and cons, with the commies, they can get things done slightly quicker. And it is changing, before you couldn't say anything bad, or you get arrested, now you're starting to see more protests. You hear about human rights issue, blah blah blah, only ppl who are "mistreated" are the criminals.
