area 51 is just a myth. it's so secretive because that's where the military goes to play high stakes poker.

Actually, the US Government just officially acknoledged the existence of Area 51 last week.

i thought its existence was always common knowledge. what goes on in there was top secret i thought.

anyone else feel that this post is a little insensitive to the child and who i'm assuming is the mother in the pic? jokes aside, i assume that child has some serious medical condition and i'm not comfortable with jokes about such topics...

yeah, i felt that, which is why i didn't carry on with the joke in my first post.

ugh. that's pretty awful.

man, i couldn't even finish reading the article... i feel so bad for the family and the girl.

yeah, i didn't either. i just read the first few paragraphs and skimmed the rest.

sad thing is that we could probably pay for her treatment with our pay for a single day

or less.

i have a feeling someone paid for it already though. a story like that is bound to get some donations.

It's too late, her brain was beyond repair at that point already, and draining the fluid would essentially kill her instantly now.
