new thread idea. short random rants about anything that grinds your gears.

people who answer the phone by greeting the caller by name. i get it, you have caller id. it's not exactly a new or innovative thing. and there's always the possibility that it's someone else using this person's phone to call you.
my office admin just did that. she picked up the phone with this familiar "hello there!" and it wasn't who she thought it was. it's both unprofessional and downright awkward.

now that really grinds my gears.

Job ads that say, "Great work experience", then in the requirements have, "Minimum 5 years of experience."

Speaking of phone calls... people who hang up the phone without saying "bye".

or people who don't make it clear that they want to hang up, and just sit there and you don't know if they hung up or not, and then there's this awkward silence before someone just hangs up.

people who comment on cute pictures with "awe" instead of "aw". it looks stupid and really is a spelling error if you think about it.

I think it's fair to say that any spelling and grammar errors will grind your gears.

this guy on facebook (who i apparently went to bible college with) grinds my gears. actually, not a lot, but people like him (who make gross assumptions and spout off their mouths harshly without fully understanding what the other is saying) annoy me.
