So if you guys missed it, apple announced the 5s and 5c today. not a whole lot to be wowed about, but the main thing that i got besides the usual bump in hardware power, was that the 5s is the first phone to have a 64-bit processor. That and it has a fingerprint reader integrated into the home button. Seeing as alicia's contract is up, i'll probably get her a 5s while i wait for the 6 next year when my freaking 4 year (3+1yr stacked) contract is up. lame...

man apple's so behind.
64-bit is so old school... atari was all over that it back in 1993!

Uh... all the subsidized iPhones will require a Max plan dude. That's freaking $65 / month. You're better off buying it unlocked.

oh, i hope it does, but if it doesn't, i guess this is the new way carriers make up the extra expenses for the phones since they can only max out 2 year contracts now and not 3.
but surprisingly, a lot of people i talk to already have plans that are $75+. It amazes me but i guess i'm spoiled with my $55 plan that i negotiated. I hear it's super hard to negotiate with retentions now though

How do you guys even use that much data? With Shaw's Open Wifi nearly everywhere, I struggle to break 400MB's / month — and that's with Netflix streaming. The $39 special plan that they offered during the summer with $4 Value pack for VVM is more than enough for me.

i use it because i'm on the bus twice a day, 35 minutes each way, 5 days a week

you don't have to be streaming the whole time on the bus though.
either case, i saw a bit of the announcement. the 5c colours are just horrendous imho.
anyway, i thought you guys were wanting to move away from ios.

i'm contemplating it... the only things that are keeping me on ios are the apps and media i've bought on there. i know i can port out the mp3s i've bought from itunes but still it's a pain. Plus imsg group chat is so handy. i'd have to use something else like whatsapp otherwise
