"pastor", "clergy", "reverend", "priest", "religious leader", "minister" didn't make the cut. i can't figure it out. however, if i look at my base salary, i'm above average at least. if i tack on my benefits (like my housing), then i really shouldn't be complaining.

looks like Burnaby is 2nd lowest for median household income for Metro Vancouver... and my neighbourhood is on the lower end of the spectrum too.

my neighborhood is average.

and funny thing to note is that places with more apartments and condos tend to be lower income neighborhoods. I'm guessing mostly because of rental units? Theres neighborhoods downtown that are really low income neighborhoods but i bet whoever owns the land is filthy rich.

then it's not that hard to make more than the average. $35k is pretty low... although i know some people who'd say otherwise

did you negotiate your old salary when the dollar was super sub par compared to the USD though? i'm sure you cringed while the CAD climbed penny after penny to USD par

The dollar started climbing about three months after I started.

Delta is #5 on the list for cities in the Metro Van... guess I moved to the wrong side of the tracks... or at least on this graph, the wrong side of the gray line... heh

i should qualify that by saying i'm not taking it personally. i'm pretty happy with what i'm making. it's the amount of responsibility that comes with it that bugs me lol.

I wasn't saying that they make too much or too little, just that I was miserable, slowly working myself into a shallow grave making less than a profession known for its poor pay.
