it's fascinating to look at these pictures, but more depressing than anything else. i'd like to hear an interview with one of these tenants to see how they feel about it all. who knows? they could be just happy to have a roof over their heads.

These small condos are becoming a trend. Micro condos or something. San Fran is building 300 sq/ft condos, Vancouver is heading in that direction as well, 375 sq/ft is the smallest I've heard so far. NYC has some 150 sq/ft condos. The ones in the pic look like 50 sq/ft if even.

Yeah, and if that affordable housing group in Vancouver has their way, then Vancouver will have more of those sub-100sqft apartments too. I think I saw an article where that affordable housing group made plans for creating housing from shipping containers.

The article that Nathan posted is a picture from the inside of one of those tiny apartments. Here's a picture of an aerial view of the slums where those apartments are located. I'm scared this is what will happen if we have those types of apartments here.

Oh yeah, upon further research, it was torn down in the 80's.. this picture was linked in Google when I searched info about those apartments though, so I thought that's where they were located.
