i noticed that i wasn't getting emails on my phone, so i thought something was wrong with the account settings. i looked into it and my password wasn't working. i got onto a computer and it still didn't work. crap, i knew i should have changed it from 'password' (i'm not even joking). i thought it got hacked, so i tried to get back into it.

then i thought shaw was down but winnie's account worked fine.

then i called my mom. you know, the one whose shaw account my email is attached to. turns out she's on telus now. son of a...

lols... that's why i switched to gmail... my telus email still works but it's attached to my parents' account. I don't even want to use my own shaw emails... if you want, i can set up your shaw email again on my account so you get to use the same email addy

Haha, same with me. I switched to a web-based email because of this. My old telus email is linked to my parents account. They transferred their telus account when they moved so I still have the telus email, but who knows how long they'll be on it.

Oh yeah, btw - stop emailing me at my telus account. haha

why don't you transfer your email account to winnie's shaw account.

yeah, i was going to transfer it to winnie's parent's account. however, since i didn't know about my mom cancelling at all (she switched a week ago she said), my account has currently been suspended (i think). i don't know if they "retire" old addresses or what, but i can't create a new account with our current shaw account.

i've tried customer service already. super long line up. i'll have to wait until later. until then, email darkness haha.

Shaw has the call back feature instead of staying on hold.

yup, i used that. but they called me back while i was driving and i didn't hear it.

just got off the phone with customer service. supposedly it works now, i can see it on the shaw customer care website, but i have yet to be able to log in on webmail (or set it up on my phone).
well, at least it's there.

that didn't seem so bad.

except i have roughly a 24 hour window of no emails. pair that with the blackout i had over the weekend with my work account and i'm so out of touch man.

good thing you still had the forums to keep you in touch during those times.

so my shaw account still isn't working. i see it under the listings of email addresses under this account (newlifeodyssey@shaw.ca lol), but i can't log in in webmail. weird.

just an update:
i called support again and everything's up and running again. let the email barrage commence!

it would of been funny if one of us called in to claim your email address.

yeah, it's pretty weird they didn't even ask me for any credentials or anything. i just told them the situation and they transferred it. it could have been anyone.
