haha, I know of someone who almost got tricked by one of these scams. The fake dude said he was some rich gem dealer with a 25 million dollar house. He was using the pic of some California real estate agent. The agent found out and started sending out notices. Some were scammed for thousands of dollars.

There was this one article about a guy who put out ads on FB for this dating website that he runs. He googled for pictures of girls that he could use for the ad spot, and somehow found a picture of the girl (from Vancouver, I think) that commited suicide after being bullied. Then somehow, a relative of the girl saw this ad and was understandably pretty shocked about it.

rehtaeh parsons or something like that. she's from the east (maritimes somewhere), killed herself this past spring.
i don't think he googled pictures, from what i heard he just used stock photos that fb was hanging on to. so he paid fb for pictures that were uploaded onto fb.

Just watch the documentary "Catfish" lol. It's freaky stuff.
