I've been seeing this video everywhere. I think it's a great technology, but I don't think it's ever going to happen. Asphalt is cheap, but yet governments still can't afford to maintain roads properly. And roads are the biggest piece of infrastructure that developed countries have... that's a lot of glass and electronics needed to upgrade everything.

I do really really want something like this to happen though. It's such a great idea.

it's good for the economy in that it'll create jobs, but it's bad for the economy because rich people will be pissed off.

i was watching it and the guy just sounded skeptical like because-we-don't-have-the-technology-now-we-can-and-will-never-so-stop-dreaming-like-an-asshat type skeptical, but then i realised the vid was a freaking half hour long so i didn't bother finishing it. maybe some day. or maybe not.
