i think weekends in general are more expensive, and also anything after april is approaching high season so it'll be more expensive.

also the ones that cost like $650+ are typically 5 star hotels. and with the cdn dollar the way it is now $650US is more like $643.50...

You can always just buy the plane ticket and bring a tent with you.

he woke up one someone's lawn. you can do that every night. it's not like you haven't slept in a hallway before.

if you want, you don't have to stay at a super nice hotel. seeing as you'll probably be out partying 20 hours of the day, sleep time isn't that important. Any place with a bed is fine. You never really spend too much time in your own hotel anyways. The room you book is only used for sleeping and boozing. I don't see the point in booking a 5 star hotel unless you're going to spend a lot of time at the pool/casino/etc.

You also don't want to be too far away from the action. You could probably get cheap rates at Imperial Palace which is mid-strip. That's where all the action is at.
