Bye bye Symbian and Nokia as we knew it

I'm pretty excited about the new HP webOS stuff that just got launched. It's the old Palm webOS, but it was updated to the point where it could possibly surpass Apple and Android. Hopefully HP has the marketing power to make it happen.

Apparently the HP Pre3 tactile keyboard is better than any of the Blackberry ones.

and now that HP's made it waaaaaaay easier and almost giving away a Pre2 for all the developers signing back up for the WebOS SDK, maybe they can start climbing their way back up the app ladder. i remember when the palm appstore was THE appstore. But that was before Apple came along and Palm ran out of money.

Another exciting thing is apparently webOS apps will be able to run within a web browser on your PC! Holy crap that's exciting!

i heard the first pre's keyboard sucked. however, i never played with one in person so i can't say for sure.

i was a fan of palm too for a while (but there wasn't much in the way of options if you really think about it anyway), so it'd be interesting to see what they cook up next.

one thing i just found out about my blackberry which i just had to share...

the gay looking leather case/belt clip/holster actually is pretty useful, when i slide my phone in it automatically locks the keyboard. when i pull it out, it automatically unlocks. freaking sweet.

but i still won't be wearing my phone on my belt, thank you very much.

All the holsters have had the magnet switch since the very first blackberry.

really? lol, i never noticed it on my curve.
and that case was MUCH nicer than the one that came with my bold.

If you see an aftermarket case you like, chances are it will have the magnetic switch too. Most of the ones that I've seen have incorporated the idea.

i never really look at those cases. i think all cases/holsters are pretty ugly and tacky to be honest.
