so i was backing up my blackberry at work today because i got a whole bunch of new apps and stuff and i thought i better back up before something goes wrong. and blackberry desktop manager said that i have a firmware update. remember what happened last time...?

anyway, i decided to go for it because i read about this new build and it's supposed to have a lot more flexibility in the bb os 6, so i nervously started the update. i kept working but also kept checking back because well, i was nervous from what happened next time. but slowly everything was falling into place.

the firmware build installed, my phone rebooted, and as it was going through the restore process...

it got stuck.

it's been stuck for like 30 minutes now. trying to restore my 12000 sms messages it got stuck at 7000.

not sure if i should try to disconnect it or just wait until the end of the day. i have a feeling that my usb port will cut power after a while of inactivity, so i might be hooped either way. i just hope that after i disconnect things will still be fine...

yeah, it's still plugged in. i'll have to see what happens after i unplug it. maybe i can still fix it haha.

phew, so i unplugged it finally after it was frozen for about 2 hours and everything was fine. i was missing all my emails and a bunch of text messages but that's ok. i backed up this morning and so i'm just going to restore it now.

i hope this build was worth it.

I don't like keeping text messages... most of them are like one or two word messages not worth keeping.

i usually keep them for a while in case i need to refer back to something.
hasn't happened yet.

i have it set now to delete after 6 months.
