Just move a Foxconn factory to one of those cities and it'll be fine.

The construction companies can build 1 story per day, so it doesn't take that long to construct a complete building, let alone a complete new city.

If there were that many brand new empty apartment buildings with a high poverty ratio here in Vancouver, they'd be screaming bloody murder for the gov't to make some affordable housing.... and they say China is the communist country.

i watched a documentary (who knows, it might have been the same one) on china's ghost cities like a couple months ago. it's pretty sad. there was a guy who had a toy store in one of the "mega malls" and he was like the only vendor in the whole place.

yeah, ok, good luck making money.

but who knows, maybe it'll pick up. kinda like crystal mall (which still sucks, but just not as much as it did for its first year of existence).

Or like Aberdeen Mall in Richmond? 1/2 of the stores there are "fake" stores owned by the developer to make the mall look occupied.

These "ghost" cities were built on the premise that if you build it they will come, them being factories, unless there's a financial crisis, and all the factories close up, like in Dongguan.

But how can workers who make $400 / month afford $200K condo's???? Or even afford to rent then????
