The computer is so old that that battery is pretty much dead. Not worth it to buy a replacement b/c it costs almost as much as a new laptop.

When the power suddenly cuts off from your computer, the hard drive has a chance of physically crashing. Meaning that pin that writes to the plate portion of the drive might have dropped hard onto the plate and scratched it.

So a couple of weeks ago, Daffy complained that her computer keeps freezing (she calls it "hang gay"). It usually happens when she uses IE, so I went in an disabled like 5 search toolbars and a couple of other IE add-ons I've never heard of. It seemed to help and it didn't happen anymore.

Last night, she says her laptop is "hang gay" again... and she wanted me to do whatever I did before and do it again. I checked her IE and nothing's changed since the last time I did it, so I told her I can't do anything else. She wouldn't give up and just kept telling me to do it again, whatever you did before.

*sigh* fml

I ended up just uninstalling a bunch of other stuff from her system that I didn't recognize.

if you know someone who has a student email account, you can get win7 pro for like $30 or so... that's how it got it. I used brendon's sfu email address... oh wait or was it a promo for alicia cuz she was a teacher? I know that was the case for cheap office 2010...
