New polymer money

Some places in Europe and Asia already use polymer bills. I wonder if there is any way to counterfeit these new bills though.

there are always ways to counterfeit money... plus, just because you don't make a good counterfeit doesn't mean there isn't someone out there who possibly makes an honest mistake and takes your lame bill...

it's kinda like putting software out there that at the moment hasn't been hacked... some hacker somewhere will find a way to pirate it if there's a big enough demand for it...

but these bills look pretty cool... are these just concept bills or are they gonna go ahead with polymer bills and these designs?

The $100 bill is already in circulation.

These new bills are tough though. They're plastic, so it's water proof. I heard they don't fold that well though, so for those of you who like to fold money to put in your wallet, it'll be tougher for you.

it's good that their waterproof and will be good if they are also tear resistant. i've never seen a mens wallet that is not designed to fold the bills. guys would need some pretty huge pockets fit full length wallets that don't fold...

i guess red pockets would have to all be designed to full length too...

The process to counterfeit them is readily accessible on the internet already, but the cost to actually do it, makes it VERY unprofitable.

Not that they can't be folded... it's just difficult to do so. If you put it in your wallet, then fold it, it will tend to rebound back to it's original shape so your wallet won't stay closed.

apparently the 100 dollar bill looks like it has a penis on it. or so their first focus groups said.

hk has been using these kinds of bills for a while, but the funny thing is that they don't use them exclusively. as in, they didn't take the old bills out of circulation, and i found that a lot of places would take RMB instead of HKD as well. so i could technically pay my bill of 500HKD with 5 100 bills but each one of them looking different haha.

I'm not a baller... I never have enough money to take out from the bank for the machine will spit out $100 bills. Unless taking out $100 total will give you a $100 bill. That would make it easier for the machine to count the number of bills though. Less error that way.

only once has a bank machine given me anything other than 20's. i think it was a td bank machine.
i've taken out large sums after that, but it was always in 20's.

I think BMO machines give out $50s
