But Lin wasn't a weakness in the defense. I'm gathering this from the subheading in that screenshot where it says "Jeremy Lin's 9 turnovers cost Knicks in streak-snapping loss to Hornets". Although I understood the meaning, the use of this phrase would've been a stretch if it weren't for the fact that he was using "chink" as a racial slur pun.
Turnovers are an offensive failure, not a defensive failure.
More appropriate headings would've been like "Can't pull trigger", or "Lin shot down", or "Hoop Dreams".
If Lin were in defense and he failed to block shots or didn't apply enough pressure to the opposing offense, then that phrase would've been perfect.
