Planet of the Apes was funny in places 'cause it was just so retarded - You laughed at the film.
Transformers was funny only if you were a pre-teen boy - You laughed at the people who were laughing.
Avengers was funny and clever - not lude/crude/raunchy.

The action was coherent. You could actually tell who the good guys and bad guys were.

I'd rate it a 3:36 marathon when you had no right even thinking you could run a 3:40.

And don't make the mistake that Dunc and G made of leaving after the Thanos scene. That was the original "end of credits" scene that's still everywhere else except North America. After the US screenings, they bumped that scene before the credits and shot an additional scene for after the credits. PURE GOLD.

I didn't like how the Hulk was inconsistently self controllable and uncontrollable.

Otherwise, I totally agree that this was one of the best Marvel movies to date. I think Joss Whedon had a huge part in it because you can tell from the big action scenes, like Shaun said, that they were coherent. You can tell the good guys from the bad and the action was precise. Not like the sloppy action scenes you see in the Transformers movies.
