What he said on the phone was, "we have to speed up the plan", not speed up operation cobra. The very next scene after that was him talking to Henry about operation cobra. That's why it was kind of ambiguous. They want you to wonder if that's who he was talking to.

I think if Henry can readily be reached over the phone, then he wouldn't need to talk to Emma on the walkie talkie.

well, the walkie talkie was just for him and emma. plus, august came along later, and they only had 2 so i don't think the walkie talkie thing isn't a big hurdle.

I didn't think it was ambiguous. It seemed pretty clear to me when i watched the show. I didn't really even think it twice about it until you guys brought it up. I don't see why he couldn't have been talking to henry

The walkie talkie was because Henry doesn't have a phone, and phone calls to the house would be intercepted by Regina. August can't just casually call up the house phone line and risk Regina picking up the phone, especially a phone call in the middle of the night. (August was sleeping when his leg seized up, which made him decide to pick up the phone to call).

I don't see how it could've been a phone call to Henry... unless it's another one of those plot hole things.

i didn't think he was talking to henry, cause from what i remember henry didn't even know who he was, and august was still trying to get henry to trust him.

however, he could have been, but it wasn't clear or obvious i don't think.

if it wasn't henry, and if henry didn't trust him, then i don't see how henry could've so willingly played a pawn (heh, pun intended) in the pawn shop.

Plus, i vaguely remember henry holding a cell phone in one of the episodes, but i could be imagining things.

I remember august saying that they needed to speed up operation cobra, but i could be wrong about that too. I'll d/l the episode and rewatch it to make sure

I'm sure he didn't say speed up operation cobra. He said speed up the "plan".

i'm pretty positive that he just said "plan" too. if he said "operation cobra" that it'd be pretty obvious who he was talking to.
besides, august's plan and operation cobra were two different things. operation cobra's mission was to stop regina and break the curse. august's plan was to convince emma that the curse was real. they wouldn't be talking about the same things, and if i remember correction, august came onto operation cobra after this incident on the phone.

ok, so i just rewatched the sequence (ep 19). Ya he said plan. BUT, the immediate scene has him talking to henry and henry says "i don't get what this has to do with getting Emma to believe". SO agreed, i think the "plan" and cobra are two diff things. him telling henry to speed up the plan is to speed up the plan to get emma to believe. BUT, august knows about operation cobra because they talk about cobra in the same sequence.

BUT i did notice one weird thing. August dials 3 numbers into the phone. So it means that it's 9-1-1? going to the sheriff's? i dunno... weird...

i rdp'd home and downloaded it and streamed it to my phone. Wonders of the internet. And i also believe global has the option of streaming the episodes on their website. But my internet is throttled at work so i just did it my way...

but yea, he dials only 3 digits into a rotary dial phone so it's gotta be 9-1-1? Gord, you can stream it too if you still have my IP and the iphone app haha...

Well, August's plan was actually to get to Mr. Gold. He used Henry to distract Mr. Gold while August looked for the dagger. Then afterwards, he got Mr. Gold to believe that he was his son. That whole thing with the nun (fairy) telling Mr. Gold what August asked her about... that was probably part of the "plan" too.

It didn't seem like he had any outside help at all though (other than Henry's distraction), so whoever he called did squat to help speed anything up.
