yea, i find the later skills aren't worth using unless you have a good rune to use it with... i'm only lev 15, but i'm still using a skill/rune i got in lev 10 when i have new skills to use

also, joining someone else's game doesn't save your campaign progress.. you have to continue your own campaign to make progress that you can hop back into later. Joining a party that was at Diablo means that you gotta start from scratch if you have no party to join. Although there are tons of public games you can join. But yea, i agree with jai, it takes part of the fun out of playing a game like this if you're hopping into it just to power level and skip the story

hey Joel, how's the auction house in d3? i haven't checked it out yet, but i remember you mentioning that you were gonna see if there's anything there worth getting. Do people put items on there for ridiculous prices?

yes people do put stuff up there for some ridiculous prices, but you can also find good stuff for reasonable prices too, although much rare. the AH system is very good. so many types of filters to find just what you are looking for.

it gives you filters on attributes as well as buyout price. so far i've bought a couple of rare items all with the main stat i was looking for around:500-700 gold.

based on current prices, my guess is if you want your yellows to sell you around the lv10-20 range, you probably want to price them no more than about 2k. i figure that's around the cutoff price... lots of people posting price at around 4-5k buyout, too steep in my opinion and too much competition if you are trying to get the sale off. with the AH commission they take a sizable chunk though.

yea, i have some yellows that i'm hanging on to cuz i'm too much of a hoarder to let rares go. Maybe i'll AH them.

yeah i think it's part of a system to really make in-game currency a much more valuable resource than your standard rpg. since the primary ways to make gold is from mob drop and AH.
AH takes a 15% cut from all sales.

they also plan to take commission off the real money auction house too... 1 USD per item sold, but if you want to transfer it to paypal so you can actually cash it out, paypal will take a 15% transfer fee. Ouch.

wow, 15% is quite a bit.. i was thinking 5% max lol...

too bad there's no way to enter the AH w/o logging into the actual game. I wouldn't mind poking around to see what it's like from here at work lol
